Superdelegate Rep. Rick Larsen backs Obama

Kelley's picture

Rep. Rick Larsen, D-Wash., on Thursday became the third member of Washington's congressional delegation to endorse Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The no-holds-barred campaign leading up to the North Carolina and Indiana primaries showed that Obama is "tough and resilient," that he can "take a punch," and yet successfully deliver his message to the American people, said the four-term congressman from northwest Washington.

Obama Wins NC, CNN Projects Clinton to Squeak out a Win in Indiana

Kelley's picture

UPDATE: CNN is now projecting a narrow Clinton victory in Indiana 51-49%. What about the delegate count? NC: Obama - 45, Clinton - 37; IN: Obama - 30, Clinton - 34.

UPDATE: CNN reports with 56% of the Lake County precincts, Obama remains in the lead with 65% to Clinton's 35%

UPDATE: Lake County votes just began coming in - 28% of the vote reporting. Currently the percentage is 75% Obama, 25% Clinton. But it looks like the precincts reporting are all from Gary so extrapolating from these early numbers is not advisable. A DailyKos diarist reports that Gary's Mayor Cole says that Gary could power an Obama victory in Indiana.

CNN is reporting that Lake County, Indiana is the county to watch.

Laney Davis is the Clinton surrogate on the MSNBC panel. He has started to rollout the Clinton nuclear strategy, blaming Obama for FL and MI's exclusion. This claim has not been embraced by other members of the panel.

Read about Seth in the PI

Please link to this story and read about Seth Elsen, a local teen who has campaigned tirelessly for Obama. He got involved in the local campaign here in Thurston Co. when he saw a flyer in the window of a record store re. our first Meet Up. Since then he has volunteered at the Obama rally at WaMu (thank you Mark Milo for setting up that volunteer opportunity), traveled to Nevada over his school vacation, and worked tirelessly in the Thurston Co. for Obama office. He has put in over 500 hours, driving daily from Shelton to Olympia. I could go on for a solid hour on all that Seth has done for the Obama campaign.

Delegate Results - 48th Legislative District - 1st CD

11 Delegates for Obama
4 Delegates for Clinton

solution to 85 million dollar spending limit

Obama gives 15% of his campaign contributions to charitable causes.
The money should go toward things that can be done quickly: buying books or computers for a daycare, buying a small piece of land for a city park or a pea patch, buying a house to shelter abused women, buying development rights to a farmer’s land to help the farmer stay in farming, buying energy efficient lights, solar panels, appliances or cars for struggling workers, et cetera.
Instead of wasting all that money on ad agencies and TV commercials, Obama could put the money to a good cause. Advertising money is spent and then disappears. Spending 15% of contributions this way creates something concrete that immediately helps people and nature.
